Simple Network Management
Minuteman's SNMP solutions extend network power management capabilities to a higher level, ensuring that your entire network is always running. Network components such as bridges, routers, hubs, gateways, wiring concentrators, terminal servers, WAN multiplexers, modems and Digital Service Units can be managed through SNMP to gracefully handle all types of power problems.
Hardware Interface Adapter
A specially designed hardware interface adapter box serves as a "proxy" agent, receiving signals from
the UPS, and then translating them into SNMP compliant messages to the appropriate Network
Management Station. When the UPS senses a power problem, a "trap" is sent to the network manger
that identifies the nature of the alert. The network manager can then respond accordingly to the power
problem either on an attended or unattended basis.
Minuteman's SNMP devices combine with their UPS and Sentry Power Management Software to provide the total network power solution.
SNMP-S: Single serial port Solution
- Supports TCP/IP
- Compatible with: Novell NMS, HP Open View, Sun Net Manger, IBM Net View, as well as other
SNMP compliant NMSs.
- Hardware adapter requires a network connection and one-time configuration through a dumb
terminal or PC.
- Allows monitoring of a network device that is a few feet away or even thousands of miles away.
- Available in 110V or 220V versions
- Includes adapter, software proxy agent, cable and instruction manual.
Multi-Interface Units (MIUs)
Minuteman's Multi-Interface Units allow multiple servers and computer systems running different operating systems to monitor and manage one single UPS. The MIU can play an important role in protecting data by providing monitoring capabilities and notifying users of power conditions. All attached servers or systems running Sentry power management software can be gracefully shut down should an extended power outage occur.
MultiMon
Up to eight independent computers servers can monitor and manage one UPS. All ports provide basic monitoring and shutdown functions. In addition, MultiMon units can be daisy-chained together should more than eight servers be attached to one UPS.
- Eight isolated, dual contact outputs, RJ-11 connectors.
- DB9 connector for UPS
- Bridge connector provided for additional MIU's
- Signals servers upon power interruption
- Monitors for low battery condition
- Also available with eight ports plus a single port for attaching an intelligent UPS
specially designed 4-port MultiMon for AS/400 server.
